Background of NCC


The entire credit goes to SSV College for bringing the 38-battalion of the army in Hapur. With the launch of the college in 1951, due to the tireless efforts of “Shiksha Prasar Samiti”, Hapur was given a unit (Battalion) of NCC by the Army wing of NCC, which is today known as 38 UP Bn NCC. To bring this battalion, the management committee of the college got the NCC building constructed as per their requirement in a separate campus. Today it is the campus office of 38-Battalion. The battalion provided its first sub unit (company) consisting of 2 troopers to our college thus the unit of this college is known as 1/38 COY UP Bn NCC.
 

The first ANO of this company was Dr. Vijay Kumar Singhal. Who was the senior lecturer of the Hindi department. After Dr. Vijay Kumar Singhal, in the year 1982, the post of ANO of the company was decorated by Dr. Nagendra Pal Singh, who remained on the post of ANO till 2007. He was a senior lecturer in the Department of Geography. In 2007, he was selected as principal for Meerut College, Meerut by the commission. You got promoted to the rank of Major. During the tenure of Major Dr. Nagendra Pal Singh, about 25 cadets became army officers, 3 officers in Army Intelligence, 7 in BSF and countless cadets were selected as soldiers and provided their services to the Indian Army and other uniformed forces. After major Dr Nagendra Pal Singh, Dr Vinod Kumar Sharma (2007 to 2009) and Dr Satish Kumar (2009 to 2011) also hold the post of ANO.
 

In November 2011, Dr. Manvendra Singh Baghel, Assistant Professor, Department of
Chemistry, took over the charge of ANO as a care taker. After taking NCC training in Kamptee from November 2017 to January 2018, he held the rank of Lieutenant in the year 2018.


In order to raise the level of the company's cadets and their overall development, Lt (Dr) Manvendra Singh Baghel, establish the cooperation with social organizations (viz. Inner Wheel Club, Hapur and Chokhey Lal Baghel Memorial Trust) and local leaders who provided many necessary facilities such as sanitary pad vending machine, height measuring machine etc. and also provided sports facilities to the cadets for NCC. Company's cadet Shama Saifi was selected at the national level in ‘10 meter air rifle shooting’. In the year 2017, NCC Kabaddi and Athletics players brought laurels to the company and the college by winning the sports competitions organized by the District Administration, Kailash Prakash Stadium, Meerut and many other colleges. Cadet Reshma Khatoon won the Uttar Pradesh Inter Battalion Competition of 0.22 Bore Rifle Shooting in the year 2020 with Gold Medal. In the year 2023, company's senior under officer Bhawna Sharma reached the IBC camp by winning various levels in 0.22 bore rifle shooting and 8 other cadets for different comptetions. In session 2022-23 company has build up its own football, volleyball and basketball teams.
 

In the year 2022-23, 6-cadets of the company and 8-cadets in 2021-22, in administration 9-cadets obtained A-grade in NCC in 2020-21. During the tenure of Lieutenant (Dr.) Manvendra Singh Baghel, 15 cadets have been selected as army officers, about 25 cadet as soldiers and about 55 cadets have been selected for various posts in the police forces of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. One of our cadet Aniket Rawat also selected in the recent program of government of india as agniveer.
 

Every year the company actively participates in the subjects of social concern, administration and programs indicated by NCC. In the session 2022 - 23, the company
organized seminars, examinations and rallies to publicize the G20 program and the use of coarse grains. Company also organised health check up camp, blood donation camp, eye check up camp and tooth check up camp etc for cadets and the public of surrounding areas of the college. Company's ANO Lt (Dr) Manvendra Singh Baghel also provided financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- to the “Sainik Kalyan Kosh” on behalf of the company.


MAJOR ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN


Physical and mental training:


1. To develop leadership, discipline, character, comradeship, secular outlook, spirit of
adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
2. To inculcate sportsmanship in the youth so that they will always be to tackle any
situation.
3. To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide
leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service to the nation.
4.  A sustainable environment to motivate the youth to take up career in the armed
forces.
