History of SSV PG College, Hapur

Shri Saraswati Vidyalaya Postgraduate College is situated in a beautiful natural area along the Delhi road, to the west of the famous city of Hapur.The college was initially affiliated with Agra University (from 1951 to 1965) and is now affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut (since 1965), one of the leading and prestigious universities. It was established in 1951 through the efforts of social worker and education enthusiast Babu Lakshmi Narayan and other philanthropists via the Education Promotion Committee. Since then, it has been serving the area by promoting education and is currently the largest educational institution in the region, spanning from Ghaziabad to Moradabad (approximately 140 km) along National Highway 09. The college offers education in arts, commerce, and science up to the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels. Since the academic year 2009-10, it has also been conducting undergraduate (B.Ed.) studies in the education department. From the last year, professional courses BCA and BBA has also been started. The college provides a large number of books and journals for both literary and practical education in its well-equipped library and reading room, research council, career information and counseling center, and modern laboratories. Adequate arrangements for sports training are also made within the college. Its students have achieved recognition in various sports competitions at the university, national, and international levels. Under the guidance of the Cultural Council, students have earned respect by demonstrating their talent in areas such as debates, essays, poetry, and writing at the university level. Financial assistance is provided to the students under various schemes for their welfare. Discipline is instilled among students by units such as NCC and NSS, fostering a sense of service towards the nation and society. The Discipline Council ensures disciplined behavior among students, motivating them towards self-discipline. Due to all these features, the college has carved a significant place in the field of education.
